YUDANSHA - BLACK BELTS

Titles and Designations

 

Titles are appointed by the Chief Instructor, Dojo Master or Grandmaster.  Titles are not guaranteed to everyone.  These appointments are based on outstanding accomplishments and superlative level of action within the rank and file of Yudansha—Black Belts.

 

Hanshi-Sei

·         This Yudansha is Ju-Dan (10th) and is a “Grand Master Instructor” which is the final and highest level.

 

Hanshi– Go

·         A Yundansha’s eligibility starts at Ku Dan (9th).

·         This is a “Master Instructor” 3rd Level 9th or 10th Dan and it means “one who sets example. “

·         This designation by the Hanshi –Sei of Martial Art style. 

 

Kyoshi-Go

·         A Yundansha’s eligibility starts at Roku-Dan (6th) and includes Shichi-Dan (7th), and Hachi- Dan (8th) ranks:

·         This is a “Master Instructor.” This designation is done by the Chief Instructor of higher rank.

 

Renshi-Go

·         A Yundansha’s eligibility starts at Yon- Dan (4th) and includes the Go-Dan (5th) rank.

·         This is a “Polished Instructor.”  This designation is done by the Chief Instructor of higher rank.

 

Sensei

·         A Yundansha’s eligibility starts at San Dan (3rd).

·         This designation is done by the Chief Instructor of higher rank.

 

Sempai

·         The Senior Student is the highest ranking person to the Chief Instructor and is designated so by said instructor.
