Master Frye's favorite peer and dear friend is the late Master Ginger Perry. Master Ginger Perry was also a Phil Little student and was promoted to the Master level on the same day and time as Master Frye. Master Frye would be remiss if he did not share the story of Master Ginger Perry. She had a huge impact on his life, success, and journey in Isshinryu. She was the first female to be promoted to Master rank by Phil Little and is a pioneer for all women in Martial Arts.

“Martial Arts – A challenge to Females" from Phil Little, Ju-Dan
Choosing to walk into a martial arts dojo, school or studio is intimidating to the average person. Women are often more terrified with this thought providing society's dated stereotypes that they are not strong enough, or they are feminine, or too old. The USIKA is particularly proud of our Women leaders and they have earned their place, held their own, and have the grit to never quit. We are very proud of our women martial artists in this organization.
As a female martial artist, you should want to be recognized for your talent, skill, discipline and self-respect. We want you to have the body language and confidence backed up with a skill set that will force attackers to think twice before approaching you.
You are being invited to train in an elite style. I welcome you to join and challenge you to earn your black belt. Your journey starts now. “
