Thank you for coming to the LCIA website and browsing. I welcome you to come to our dojo to train and enjoy fellowship with me and my students.

I began studying Isshinryu at the age of ten. This puts me at having over 40 years of experience in Isshinryu.

I am a single father of two and I understand the difficulties of raising children with an absent parent. My boys are men now and I expect it will not be long before I am a grandpappy. Family is my first priority and I cherish my parents who have always supported me in studying Isshinryu. I challenge others to do the same.

Children are gifts from God and I hope and pray that the children that I teach will never have to face a physical treat be that at school, online, at home, or at the hands of a stranger.

Children gain confidence and pride in themselves through studying any Martial Arts program. Karate can take the shyness out of a child if only by the way the child carries her or himself. Regardless, I never stop worrying about the welfare of all of my students. Isshinryu is a respected style that is not known for rank being given. Rank in Isshinryu is indeed earned.

The Isshinryu family is a large one. The first generation students have populated the United States and many other countries with Isshinryu. And while we all have the same Soke, like families, Isshinryu has all the dynamics of an extended family.

Regardless of from where on the family tree one grows, Isshinryu is a tough, gritty, raw, and effective and feared style by all opponents in both sport fighting and street fighting. After all what else would be expected from those Marines who brought it to the USA.
